Writing is Great!!!

Yep, you read that correctly. (At least I think you did—did you see “Writing is Great”? Ok, good. You don’t need glasses. I think.)

Why do I say that?

I say that because it’s true, at this point.

You remember waaay back in “Completion: What’s Next?” where I contemplated what to do next after finishing my novel?

Well, after letting it sit for two months or so, I started working on it!

At first, it was realllllllyyyyyy bad.

As in, I read the first chapter and gave up.

Yeaaaahhhhh . . .

But now, it’s better! My post “Did You Know” followed my thought path in getting past that overwhelming sense of “I can’t do it.”

I started a couple weeks ago, and at first I was really consistent—rewriting a chapter a day.

That lasted for . . . 6 days.

And then Sunday came along and threw me off, ’cause we went to church, and then I had a headache and . . . I didn’t write.

And on Monday we were really busy.

So Tuesday, I wrote a chapter!

And I didn’t on Wednesday.

Not to make this sound depressing, ’cause it’s not! I now have 7 chapters written in my second edition!

Whoooohoooo!!!

Even though it’s not going super fast, I know I can get this done eventually! 😀 I just need to keep plugging away at it!

My sister read (aloud) the prologue and first chapter to me for her to edit and for me to see what it sounded like.

The first chapter was terrible tearable. I had combined the first two chapters of my original, so it was really hurried.

I’ll give you the rundown. In that chapter, I have to cover Three Very Important Things. First: a crash and the MC’s (main character) dad’s coworker going to the hospital. Second: A new law that messes everything up. Third: the MC and her brother getting taken away because they broke the new law.

And since it was all crammed into the first chapter, I had rushed through all of them and had made none of it seem very important.

So, that’s one thing I need to go back (again) and fix (again). But I think I know how to do it, so it shouldn’t be too bad!

Alright, now you’re up to date on my writing progress!

I hope this inspires you to get out an old project and finish it or redo something you didn’t like or . . . start a new project! However this blog post affects you, God bless you in your journey. 😀
