I Drew From Your Prompts!

pencil on spiral drawing notebook

In my last art post, I asked you, my readers, for drawing prompts.

Well, I got a lot of great ideas! And I’m here today to reveal the art that I made based on those prompts. 😀

First off, let’s take a look at the marker drawing I did from the following description: A hamster, sitting on his haunches, looking at you with glasses on. His name is Paul…

This one took me about half an hour or so, and it was super fun! Paul is such a cute little hamster. 🙂 I used the coloring technique described in THIS post for both this drawing and the next.

This one was super creative . . . a little chick, just a few weeks old, with an adult rooster sized comb and wattle, throwing his head back and crowing. Super fun to draw and color in!

At this point, I decided I should probably mix up the mediums . . . so the blindfolded monkey juggling bananas got a coloring-book style. Actually (moment of triumph), I sent a picture of this drawing to my mom before I colored it in, and she thought it was from a coloring book! XD

This monkey took a lot longer than the marker ones since colored pencil takes a while to blend and fill a whole page with. While I was doing this one, I was listening to an audiobook version of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis!

And now for the last drawing, based off of the following prompt: Two animals that are usually enemies curled up together.

This one was also super fun to do, although there was a point that I thought it would totally fail . . . when I was doing the crocodile’s scales. Those were hard to shade and make look realistic! But eventually, I think I succeeded. What do you think?

Which of these drawings is your favorite? If one of them was from your prompt, do you think I did a good job?

Until next time, God bless and have a wonderful day!

  1. Love Paul! He is just what I imagined he would look like😁
Also love your others as well, but the Crocodile and Frog is the best IMO. Did you use watercolor for that one?

    1. Awesome! 😀 I’m glad it turned out well!
I love that one as well! Yes, it was done with watercolor 😉 I guess I forgot to put that in the post… oops! XD

  2. Wow! Those all look amazing!
I think you did a great job with the crocodile scales, and the blindfolded monkey turned out ten times better than I pictured in my head.
